Dear Mayor Elect Van Campen,
I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from my position on the city council, effective January 2, 2026. I do not make this resignation lightly, I have been absent from my duties at Whittier Drive, and have been a general nuisance.
There has been extreme violence from Charles Censullo and my associate, Robert
L Bailot, Sr., and I've done nothing to mitigate their horrible attacks on the community.

Record producer / Documentarian Joe Viglione took numerous photos of
inappropriate postings by Nick Saia, under my authority, and a plethora
of postings by sexual harasser Robert L. Bailot, Sr., who was under a
number of restraining orders for his wrongful conduct.

Mr. Viglione was assaulted by my people on November 7, 2023, informed so by an
attorney, and was told by a nice officer of the law to file in Malden District
Court on Nov 8, 2023, which Viglione did.

I personally delivered food to Viglione on Nov. 1,2025 and said to
him "God Bless" in his hallway, my way of apologizing. My cousin,
the outgoing mayor, waved to him from the food delivery truck outside.

I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunities and experiences I have had while serving on the council. It has been a privilege to work alongside dedicated individuals committed to improving the quality of life in our city.
During this transitional period, I am available to assist with the transfer of responsibilities and provide any necessary support to my successor, Maria Bussell. Please do not hesitate to reach me at the contact info above if there is anything I can do to facilitate a smooth transition. As I worked at Rocco & Sons Funeral Home I will be burying my cousin's 18 years as mayor and hope that you can undo some, if not all, of the damage done by Carlo DeMaria to this city.

EVERETT, Mass. —
An embattled city councilor and the communications director for the mayor of Everett, Massachusetts, have both resigned over new accusations of racially-insensitive remarks.
City Councilor Anthony DiPierro announced his resignation at 12:25 p.m. Monday via Facebook, which came more than two months after he used memes containing "a vile and derogatory word" in text messages.
