A Tenant’s Union for Whittier Drive
Joe Viglione would like to help Elders and Tenants Who Feel Neglected and Intimidated
I’ve been told we are allowed to post in 21 Whittier Drive without the photos and posts inspected by Nicole DiPierro or Jean Daniel, or the room coordinator, which the 1st Amendment of the Constitution allows us in non-political settings.
There are puzzles galore, but I never received an invite to make puzzles or color pictures. Why is that? Why do a couple of people control a room meant for about 120 apartments here? Why is there little or no OUTREACH and interpreters? Oh, schedules show up a week late or not at all, and the room coordinator has lunch with two people and everyone else can feel intimidated or bullied. One day I was playing piano and some heavy-set chain-smoker was rustling his lunch bag repeatedly – attempting to annoy me to leave. I kept playing and the fellow walked out. Some woman seems to audiotape people in the room, laughs at them, and pours water on top of the piano when not using it like it is furniture in her home.
We Whittier/Proctor/Shute/Lynn Street, McKinley etc tenants deserve fairness. I am working hard at the MCAD and in court to bring us all a community room free of elder abuse, free of violent people smashing vases or swinging a dangerous American flag. We deserve safety. Elders deserve civil rights.
