Everett Housing Responds to April 23 2026 Public Records Request to Extend Information on Housing Candidates

Everett Housing Responds to April 23 2026 Public Records Request to Extend Information on Housing Candidates https://informationcentraleverett.blogspot.com/2026/05/everett-housing-responds-to-april-23.html

I have great respect for Mayor Van Campen and David Ela of the Board of Commissioners of Housing. What I do find is that the 3 candidates gave us their own pitch which may or may not have information the tenants need to make a proper assessment.

And even with a records request tenants are told to pound sand. After the disaster that was Housing veteran Stephen Kergo, the public, the elderly, deserve better.

Re: Massachusetts Public Records Request

Dear Keeper of the Records and/or Resident Services Coordinator:

This is a request under the Massachusetts Public Records Law (M. G. L. Chapter 66, Section 10).
I am requesting that I be provided a copy of the following records:
The documents / proper (full) resumes for:
John Holt
Kevin Johnson
Harold S. Ince, Jr.
a)I find the current pitches/letters from the candidates are not adequate for
the public to make up its mind by May 1, when the questions are to be delivered
b)If Mr. Johnson worked for DHCD I see it as a glaring omission, and his
allegedly not being forthright with the tenants reading his letter.  Johnson
claims ",,,professional strengths including leadership, communication..."  which
I question if, indeed, he worked at DHCD (as well as the information on what
he actually did there.)
We are getting HIS  "communication" which might not necessarily be the
communication we need, as when Mr. Kergo promised but refused to evict Mr. P.C
when the hat-in-the-door trick was repeated, and when the Housing Supervisor
failed to evict Robert Bailot, her nephew's good friend, when he violated the R/O.
c) With the ten business days it takes for a Public Records Request
perhaps the deadline should be pushed further into May?
Everett Housing staff has been hostile to residents, in conflict with the
mission statement, and we need kind, caring, concerned individuals at Housing in
the twilight of our lives, not the malicious abuse of court process some
tenants are facing.  As in my case where I was totally upfront about a
PCA and requested paperwork, and a staffer allegedly perjurs herself in court
on a vendetta against a handicapped man who could die tomorrow from
yet another heart attack.  Housing was advised, by me, with 21 days in
December and 21 days in January for reasonable accommodation, yet
a woman refused to give me the paperwork that Mystic Valley gave me,
MVES hiring the man my cardiologist noted I needed, and the Housing
staffer laughing at me, waving at me, a smug smile, and Mr. Kergo
couldn't find the footage when asked in a records request  One cardiologist
believes the stress of a landlord abusing me caused the congestive heart
failure as I was doing 2 miles on the treadmill a night before the elder abuse.
With at least 4 residents dying in the past 8 months at Whittier, it is a
matter of life and death.  I editorialize in my records requests, as you know,
so in case this reporter dies, other reporters can have the evidence.
I recognize that you may charge reasonable costs for copies, as well as for personnel time needed
to comply with this request, However, as I am a journalist quoted in books, the NY Times, Boston Globe, etc
and this is a matter of GREAT public interest, and my rent almost doubled with the same 2024 financials
(shame on Housing) wiping out my Social Security Check, please waive any fees.
The Public Records Law requires you to provide me with a written response within
10 business days. If you cannot comply with my request, you are statutorily required to provide an explanation in writing.

Sincerely,
